Connecticut
SCOTT E. BORIS - Waterbury, CT
Scott Boris holds a master’s degree in Fire Science from the University of New Haven. An active lieutenant in the Bridgeport Connecticut Fire Department, he is also a Certified Fire and Explosions Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. Scott is a court-qualified expert witness in the state of Connecticut as well as an attendant of both the National Fire Academy and the International Association of Arson Investigators seminars.

GLENN C. BOWMAN - Gardiner, ME
Glenn Bowman, PE (RET), is an electrical engineer with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Rhode Island. He has held memberships in the Maine Association of Engineers, the Electric Council of New England, the National Fire Protection Association, and the Power Research Association at the University of Maine. A court-qualified expert witness, Glenn has over forty years of experience in the engineering and fire investigation fields.
WILLIAM G. MACOMBER - Abbott, ME
Electrical Expert William Macomber is a licensed Maine Master Electrician. He was previously the Senior Electrical Inspector for the state of Maine for over 25 years. In addition to being a court-qualified expert witness in the determination of areas of electrical fire origin and cause in District and Superior Court, Bill has over 53 years of experience in the electrical field. He has also been an instructor at The Institute of Fire Science since 2004.
BRIAN K. SMITH - Sanford, ME
Brian Smith is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. As a captain in the Sanford Maine Fire Department, Brian is constantly on the fire ground, both in a fire fighting and investigating capacity. With participation from neighboring fire departments, he helped implement a mutual aid fire investigation team in York County, Maine, designed to assist surrounding communities with conducting detailed fire scene examinations. He furthers his education in fire science through coursework at Southern Maine Community College as well as through continued education and participation in fire investigation-related seminars offered through the International Association of Arson Investigators, the National Association of Fire Investigators, and the National Fire Protection Association.
DARRELL L. WEBB - Bangor, ME
Senior Fire Analyst Darrell Webb is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators. He is also an active member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, regularly attending annual seminars and training. A court-qualified expert, Darrell also taught a National Fire Academy course on fire investigation through the Maine State Fire Training Service. Darrell brings over 25 years of fire service experience to the field.

STEPHEN W. DUFFY - Pittsfield, MA
Stephen Duffy holds an associate's degree in Fire Science from Berkshire Community College. He is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators. He is also a Certified EMT–A and a Certified Fire Apparatus Engineer. A court-qualified witness in fire investigation and fire origin, Steve brings over 30 years of experience to the field, having achieved the ranks of firefighter through fire chief at the Pittsfield Fire Department.
MICHAEL E. HENNESSY - Woburn, MA
As Senior Fire Analyst, Michael Hennessy has an impressive resume, including the distinction of being the first fire official in Massachusetts to be certified as a Fire Investigator by the International Association of Arson Investigators. He has also been certified by the National Board of Fire Service Professional Qualifications, testified at criminal and civil trials, and completed hundreds of fire investigations over the course of his career. Additionally, he is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators.
BRUCE W. MACKAY - Worcester, MA
Bruce MacKay is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He has over 25 years of experience in the fire service with the Holden Fire Department. He is a court-qualified expert witness in the determination of fire origin and cause. With over 30 years of experience in the HVAC field, Bruce also offers a wealth of knowledge regarding electrical, heating, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment. He holds a certification as a Universal Technician for refrigerant transition and recovery.

John Mulcahy, PE, is an electrical forensic engineer who holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Manhattan College. John is a licensed Professional Engineer. A court-qualified expert witness, he has over 30 years of experience in the engineering and fire investigation fields.
MARK D. SULLIVAN - Falmouth, MA
Mark Sullivan is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. Mark is the deputy chief of the Falmouth Fire Rescue Department and has over 30 years of experience in the fire service. He has also been an active member of the United States Air Force National Guard, serving as an airfield/structural firefighter on Otis Air Force Base, a fire protection specialist for the United States Air Force, and retired as an assistant fire chief. Mark holds a bachelor's degree in Fire Science from Anna Maria College and has over 10 years of experience in the fire investigation field.

THOMAS A. BUSH - Farmington, NH
Chief Automotive Analyst Thomas Bush is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators, an ASE® Master Technician, and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator and Certified Fire and Explosions Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. Tom has over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry and has investigated hundreds of fires to structures, vehicles, farm equipment, lumber equipment and heavy machinery.
MARK A. DUPUIS - Rochester, NH
Mark Dupuis is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. Mark is also a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He is also a New Hampshire Certified Firefighter, Levels I through III, and has been a firefighter for the Rochester New Hampshire Fire Department for over 20 years. Mark holds an associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New Hampshire Technical Institute. He has over 14 years of experience as a fire investigator with the Rochester New Hampshire Fire Department where he currently serves as a deputy chief/fire marshal.
JAMES E. MATHIEU - Rochester, NH
James Mathieu, PE, is a licensed Professional Engineer. He is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in managing capital projects, supporting plant engineering, and providing electrical controls design. His engineering experience began in the United States Navy, during which he served as an aviation electronic technician. He then earned a BSEE from the University of South Florida and went on to become a plant/project/design engineer, with eight years experience in the commercial nuclear power industry; eight years of experience in the manufacturing industry; and four years experience in system integration, providing computer control systems to the manufacturing industry.
DAVID M. WHEELER – Concord, New Hampshire
David Wheeler is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators, as well as a Certified Fire Investigation Instructor and Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. In addition, David has 30 years of experience in law enforcement, which includes an 11-year span as the chief of police in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, and eight years as a detective for the New Hampshire State Police. He is also a court-qualified expert witness in district and superior courts, as well as the United States Federal District Court.

DAVID W. JACKSON – Westfield, NJ
An active lieutenant in the Plainfield New Jersey Fire Division, David has over 20 years of experience in the fire service. He is a Certified Fire and Explosions Investigator with the National Association of Fire Investigators as well as a Certified Fire Investigator Instructor, and currently is the deputy commander for the Union County Arson Task Force where he has served for 20 years. Additionally, David is a Certified Police Academy Instructor and a member of the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators.
WILLIAM E. RIEGER, II - Woodbury, NJ
William Rieger, II, is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators, and a court-qualified expert witness. He was also the Gloucester County Fire Marshal from 1989 until 2009. William was the Gloucester County Fire Coordinator from 1989 until 2008, and is currently a senior instructor at the Gloucester County Fire Academy. He earned his bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice at Trenton State College. He is also a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators and the National Association of Fire Investigators.

ROBERT A. AMMANN - Long Island, NY
Robert Ammann is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigations. His fire service career spans 25 years in New York City and Nassau County. Bob retired as a fire marshal for the New York City Fire Department in 2006 and is a court-qualified expert witness.
GARRY E. ASHDOWN - Poughkeepsie, NY
Garry "Butch" Ashdown is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. Butch has over 17 years of experience as both a firefighter and a police officer. He is deputy fire chief for the Ulster County Arson Task Force and is a Certified New York State Level I and II Fire Investigator. Butch is a court-qualified expert witness as well as a canine accelerant detection specialist.
JOHN W. CAVANAUGH - Rochester, NY
John Cavanaugh is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He has been in the fire service for 20-plus years with the Pittsford and Fishers Fire Departments, and was a police officer with the Brighton Police Department for 20 years, where he was assigned to the fire investigation unit for the municipality for 15 of those 20 years. John is a Certified New York State Fire Investigator - Levels I and II.
JOHN L. COULUM – Poughkeepsie, NY
John Coulum is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He has over 18 years of experience in the fire service and is currently an engine company lieutenant with the Kingston New York Fire Department. A fire investigator for the Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit as well as a member of their Arson Task Force, John is also a HazMat Team Operations leader. He currently holds certifications as a New York State Fire Investigator Level II and as a New York State Fire Instructor I. John also holds a bachelor of professional studies in Fire Protection Technology from Empire State College, a bachelor of science degree in business management from Plattsburgh State University, and an associate’s degree in Fire Science from Corning Community College.
PATRICK B. DUGAN - Schenectady, NY
Patrick Dugan retired after a 33-year career with the Schenectady Fire Department, achieving the rank of deputy fire chief. He is a Certified New York State Level I and II Fire Investigator as well as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. Pat is a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators as well as a car aficionado, having worked on automobiles in his personal life for over 35 years.
JAMES H. SQUIRES - Plattsburgh, NY
James Squires's career spans 38 years with the Plattsburgh Fire Department, rising through the ranks from firefighter to fire chief and leading the Plattsburgh Fire Investigative Taskforce. James is certified through the National Association of Fire Investigators as a Fire and Explosions Investigator and is also a Certified New York State Level I and II Fire Investigator.

JONATHAN K. SIVILS – Warminster, PA
Jon is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. Jon is the assistant fire marshal for Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and has been active in the fire service for over 15 years. Jon holds an A.S. in fire protection technology from Americus University and is a court-qualified expert witness in the determination of origin and cause. Jon has served as a police officer for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and is HazMat Certified. In 2005, Jon received the Department of Homeland Security Heroism Award for his part in the Hurricane Katrina Response.

Senior Fire Analyst Michael Nolan is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators, as well as a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He has over 15 years of experience in fire and arson investigation and is a retired senior detective of the South Kingstown Rhode Island Police Department.
Vermont
TIMOTHY E. AUSTIN - Springfield, VT
Senior Fire Analyst Timothy Austin is both a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. A court-qualified expert, Tim was also an instructor for the Vermont Fire Training Council and a past president of the Vermont Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators. Tim’s extensive experience includes a 26-year career with the Vermont State Police, where he served a s a fire and arson investigator, as well as an assistant state fire marshal.
