MICHAEL D. KNOLL: IAAI-CFI – North Newton, IA

Mike Knoll is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators. His experience includes more than 20 years in the fire service, many of which he spent as a firefighter. Mike also served as Fire Marshal of the Newton Fire Department for more than 10 years. After receiving his paramedic certification from the Mercy School of Health Science, he became the Newton Fire Department’s first paramedic and helped establish their paramedic program.

Mike has an Associate of Science in Fire Science from Des Moines Area Community College. He is also a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators and the Iowa Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators.

 

ROSE M. ROZMIAREK: IAAI-CFI, CFI(V), CECT // NAFI-CFEI, CVFI – Kansas City, MO

Rose Rozmiarek is a Certified Fire Investigator, Certified Evidence Collection Technician, and Certified Fire Investigator with a Motor Vehicle Fire Endorsement through the International Association of Arson Investigators. She is also a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators.

Rose has more than 32 years of experience in full-time law enforcement and more than 17 years of experience as a volunteer firefighter. She was Chief of Investigations for the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office from 2001 to 2016 and a Certified Accelerant Detection Canine Handler for seven years. Rose is an adjunct professor at Washburn University and has conducted training sessions for various professional organizations and public section agencies.

Rose has been conducting fire investigations in the private sector since 2013 and is currently licensed in Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and Missouri. She holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Washburn University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminalistics from Michigan State University. Rose is a court-qualified expert witness in the state of Kansas. She is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, currently serving as the Award Committee Chair and on the Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Colorado Chapters of the International Association of Arson Investigators and the National Association of Fire Investigators.
