SAMUEL J. ALLEN: IAAI/CFI, CFI(V), CECT, NAFI/CFEI – Alexandria, LA

Sam Allen is a Certified Fire Investigator, Certified Evidence Collection Technician, Certified Instructor, and a Certified Fire Investigator with a Motor Vehicle Fire Endorsement through the International Association of Arson Investigators. He is also a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. In addition, Sam is a Certified Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, Firefighter, Public Fire Educator, and Fire Service Instructor through Louisiana State University.

Sam has more than 20 years of experience in the fire service, serving in the roles of Lieutenant for the Louisiana Department of Corrections and a Firefighter and Operator for Rapides Parish Fire District #3. He currently serves as Fire Prevention Officer for the Alexandria Fire Department. Sam is also a Registered Private Investigator through the Louisiana Board of Private Investigator Examiners and has more than 18 years of experience examining fire scenes. He has also provided expert testimony in fire-related court cases.

Sam completed coursework in public safety at Louisiana State University and is in the process of obtaining an Associate of Science in Fire Science from Eastern Gateway Community College. He is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators and the Louisiana Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators as well as the National Association of Fire Investigators. Additionally, he is commissioned by the Alexandria Police Department, the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Louisiana Secretary of State.

 

J. RANDALL PLATT : NAFI-CFEI – Biloxi, MS 

Randall Platt is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He has over 23 years of experience in the fire service field, and has spent the past 15 years as a firefighter with Jackson County Fire Protection. Randall has been a member of their fire investigation team since 2009. He is a member in good standing of the Mississippi Fire Investigators Association and has an Associates of Fire Science from Columbia Southern University.

 

BARRY K. CATES: IAAI-CFI – Longview, TX

Barry Cates is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators, as well as a Master Arson Investigator and Master Firefighter through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. He is also a Licensed Peace Officer through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.

Barry retired from the Longview Fire Department after 23 years of service, the last 15 of which were spent with the Longview Fire Marshal’s Office. He holds an intermediate instructor certificate and has experience teaching about firefighting and fire investigation. Barry has a Bachelor of Science in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University, as well as an Associate of Applied Science in Management and an Associate of Science in Fire Protection from Kilgore College.

 

MARK BORDELON: IAAI/CFI(V), NAFI/CFEI – Marksville, LA

Mark is a Certified Fire Investigator, with Vehicle Endorsement, and Certified Evidence Collection Technician through the International Association of Arson Investigators, a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators, and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator and Certified Fire Investigation Instructor through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He has 35 years of experience in the fire industry, with over 20 years of experience conducting origin and cause investigations. Mark is a court-qualified expert witness.

 

LARRY D. KING: IAAI/CFI – Alexandria, LA

Larry King is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He has over 30 years of experience in the fire industry, with over 17 years of examining fire scenes and determining areas of origin and causes of fires. He most recently served as Fire Chief for the Alexandria Louisiana Fire Department. Larry holds active membership with the International Association of Arson Investigators, the Louisianna Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators, and the National Association of Fire Investigators.
