PAUL R. OUELLETTE: IAAI/CFI – Lewiston, ME

Paul Ouellette is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators and a Certified Fire Inspector through the National Fire Protection Association. He has over 25 years of experience conducting origin and cause investigations for the Lewiston Fire Department and an additional 13 years of fire service experience as a firefighter and EMT, holding the rank of Lieutenant and District Chief for the Danville Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a naval firefighter at the Brunswick Naval Air Station, both aircraft and structural, from 1989 to 1991. He holds an Associates Degree in Fire Science Technology from Southeast Maine Vocational Technical Institute. He is a member of the International and Maine Chapters of the International Association of Arson Investigators and is on the board of directors for the International Association of Arson Investigators Maine Chapter.

 

DARRELL L. WEBB: IAAI-CFI – Bangor, ME

Darrell Webb is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators, as well as an active member of the International Association of Arson Investigators. He served with the Bangor Fire Department for 25 years, holding positions as firefighter, lieutenant, fire captain, assistant fire chief, and chief training division officer. In addition, he has been a fire analyst with NEFCO since 1997. Darrell is a court-qualified expert in the state of Maine, and he taught a National Fire Academy course in fire investigation through the Maine Fire Service Institute. He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science from Southern Maine Community College.

 

BRIAN K. SMITH: IAAI-CFI // NAFI-CVFI – Sanford, ME

Brian Smith has been with NEFCO since 1996 and is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He retired as a Captain with the Sanford Fire Department in 2015 after 33 years of service. He served in the capacity of Fire Investigator working with local, state, and federal law enforcement officials.  Brian is a charter member and actively participates as board member of the Maine Chapter of the IAAI.  Through that organization, he assists with organizing and facilitating training in the field of fire investigations.  He furthers his education in fire science through coursework at Southern Maine Community College, as well as through continued education and fire investigation-related seminars offered through the International Association of Arson Investigators, the National Association of Fire Investigators, and the National Fire Protection Association.

BRIAN S. BEATY: IAAI/CFI, Atlanta, GA

Brian Beaty is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators and a Certified Fire Investigator through the National Board on Fire Service Professionals. He has over twenty-six years of experience in the fire service. Brian served as an investigator for the City of Smyrna Fire Department from 2007 to 2014 and has continued that role for the Cobb County Department of Public Safety since 2014, He was promoted to chief fire investigator in 2018. He is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators and the Georgia Fire Investigators Association. He has completed hundreds of hours of training through both of these organizations, and is an experienced expert witness.
