JOSEPH VALENZUELA: NAFI/CFEI – Chaparral, NM

Joseph has more than 10 years of experience as a private fire investigator in Texas and New Mexico. Joseph has served as a licensed Texas Master Peace Officer within the Crime Scene Unit of the El Paso Police Department since 2006, and he is a State Certified Instructor with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. He is a Certified Arson Investigator through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. He has made several court appearances and testified in many trials. Joseph is a member in good standing with the International Association of Arson Investigators, the National Association of Fire Investigators, and the International Association for Identification.

DUANE M. BAIR: IAAI/CFI, NAFI/CFEI, NAFI/CVFI, CFII – Farmington, NM

Duane Bair is an experienced expert witness in fire-related court cases. He is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators, as well as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator, and a Certified Fire Investigator Instructor through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He is also certified through the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress as a Fire Instructor II, Fire Officer II, Fire Investigator, and a Fire Inspector. Duane has more than 20 years of fire service experience and over 7 years as a fire investigator determining areas of origin and causes of fires. He has served as a wildland division battalion chief for the City of Farmington and a strike team leader for New Mexico State Forestry Department. Some of Duane’s responsibilities included providing wildland fire training, establishing standard operating procedures, and serving on multiple technical rescue teams.
