Mike Spini: IAAI/CFI – Billings, MT

Mike Spini is a Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI/CFI) with the International Association of Arson Investigators, a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Certified Fire Marshal with the International Code Council (ICC) and holds many other ICC certifications.
Mike has testified as an expert witness in state court and pre-trial litigation. He was employed by the Billings Fire Department for 23 years, serving as Fire Marshal for 13yrs and Deputy Fire Marshal. He also served as Deputy State Fire Marshal for the State of Montana. Mike has conducted fire investigations for private industry in Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota. He has over 25 years of fire investigation experience and has served as the vice president of the Montana Chapter-IAAI where he is currently a board member. Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology – Fire Protection and Safety from Oklahoma State University.

 

Andrew N. Thomas: IAAI/CFI, NAFI/CFEI – Pocatello, ID

Andy Thomas is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association Fire Investigators. Andy has 26 years of experience in fire and arson investigation and has conducted investigations in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada. Additionally, he is a certified police officer with 31 years of progressive experience with the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office. Andy is also a graduate of Idaho State University, where he later became an instructor in the College of Law Enforcement and taught classes in Crime Scene Investigation, Preservation and Collection of Evidence, Death Investigation, Fingerprinting, and Auto Theft and Fraud Investigation for 12 years. He is also a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators and the National Association of Fire Investigators.
